POSTOPERATIVE CARE: OTOPLASTY (EARS)
Postoperative Instructions
| DO: |
Clean suture lines with hydrogen peroxide and a Q-tip 6 times a day.
|
| DO: |
Apply Bacitracin or Neosporin ointment to suture lines following cleaning 6 times a day.
|
| DO: |
Wear a stocking cap or head band pulled over your ears while you are sleeping for 2 weeks following surgery.
|
| DO: |
Sleep with the head of bed elevated 30-40 degrees or in a recliner.
|
| DO: |
Wash hair with Baby Johnson’s Shampoo for 1 week.
|
| DO: |
Notify us of any excessive swelling, redness or discomfort.
|

Pull ears forward under any circumstances.

Wear earrings for 2 weeks.
|
| DO NOT: |
Sleep on your ears for 3 weeks.
